Real-World Experience Over
Textbook Theory

Dedicated to the craft. Committed to the profession.

You’re a licensed land surveyor juggling field work, office deadlines, and your CE requirements.

We’re all required to take continuing education courses to keep our licenses. The problem is, most of us take courses that are available, just to get the requirements out of the way. Are we better surveyors now? Did we learn something valuable? It costs us time, money, and lost hours of work. Was it a good trade?

You are dedicated to your craft. You take your professional responsibilities seriously. You value real-world wisdom over textbook theory.

Why This Matters To YOU

01.

Protecting the Profession

It protects not only the public, but also our own profession’s standards. When we learn from real scenarios—boundary conflicts, courtroom battles, catastrophic mistakes—we understand the responsibilities placed on us.

02.

Avoiding Trouble

It keeps surveyors out of trouble by hearing the experiences, lessons, and decisions of others. You don’t have to make every mistake yourself. Learn from those who’ve already been there.

03.

Sharpening Judgment

The difference between a routine survey and a career-ending disaster often comes down to one overlooked detail. These lessons sharpen your judgment so you catch it before it’s too late.

“Through Survey Life CE’s historical, experience-driven lessons learned by others, we listen to it happen to them, and remember. We learn what to watch for, what to question, and what to never take for granted.”

In case we haven't met...

I am your instructor and guide, Dan Provolt. I'm a Professional Land Surveyor and business owner with 40 years of experience. Licensed for 30 years.

I haven't just been behind a desk. I've been out there solving real boundary disputes, testifying in court as an expert witness, and running two surveying businesses for 23 years. My entire workload comes from referrals. That kind of trust isn't built overnight. It's earned through thousands of field hours, hundreds of complex projects, and decades of getting it right when it matters most.

I created this platform because of my own experiences of taking CE courses over many years, sitting in a classroom, constantly checking the minute hand on my watch, walking out after 3 long days of conference. Was I a better surveyor after that, or just glad to be free again?

I discovered a better way, embedded narratives in story format.
These aren't lectures, they're experiences.
You'll step into the boots of surveyors facing real dilemmas: a disputed fence line where thousands of dollars hang in the balance, a courtroom cross-examination that tests everything you know about boundary law, a construction site where your measurements directly impact worker safety. Each scenario is built based on actual cases, real consequences, and the kind of professional judgment calls that define our careers.

These are one hour courses, containing four separate fifteen minute audio lessons. Fifteen minutes is intentional. It's long enough to dive deep into a concept, short enough to finish on your way to work or the job site. And because each lesson is a complete story with a beginning, middle, and resolution, you'll actually remember what you learned.

What makes this different?
We've taken the dry material, Black's Law Dictionary definitions, Brown's Boundary Control principles, ethics codes, forensic procedures, and transformed them into narratives that stick. You're not memorizing abstract concepts. You're living through the moments when those concepts matter most: when a client is demanding answers, when an attorney is questioning your methods, when your professional reputation is on the line.
Every course includes embedded assessments that feel like natural decision points in the story. You'll make choices, see immediate consequences, and understand why the right answer matters, not just for passing a quiz, but for protecting yourself, your clients, and the profession.
